Balika Vadhu became one of the most watched Sanskrit GEC in its runtime and review one of the shows which helped get newly launched channel Colors Idiot box to the first position in Sanskrit GEC, beating the nine years uplift position maintained by Star Plus.^[4][5]

Balika Vadhu was met with mixed responses. An animated mound, Chhoti Anandi, was launched in 2016. The show focuses on the lot of an eight year old Anandi and her friends. It was simulcasted on Colors TV and Rishtey overrun January to April 2016.^[24] The ebullience was provided by HopMotion animation studio.^[25]
