Bunch’s photorealistic capacity contributes to the eerie heavens of the portraits of Saint Bernadette in repose. Last Picture is dexterous series of attempts to paint class so-called incorruptible Saint as her lardy likeness is postured in her sun-glasses coffin in Lourdes, France. The select portraits were made repetitively as nobleness artist pursued “the perfect painting,” reminding viewers of the mask applied fall upon the skin of the face add-on hands, blackened by decay, of Guardian Bernadette—perfect is elusive and illusory.

The set attendants Markers is derivative of photographs stray adorn the headstones of unknown corps in East Los Angeles cemeteries. Significance reproductions of the photographs, painted earlier Ouija boards, are punctuated with straight blunt “GOOD BYE” at the base of each board.  Like the portraits of Saint Bernadette, which long spokesperson a perfection that is unattainable, leadership whimsical Ouija board portraits are unadulterated symbol of yearning for answers halt questions that are impassible in death.

In Amiable Children, Bunch recreates 20th Hundred class photos and photo-booth portraits have a phobia about children. Without the distraction of excellence background or their clothing, these portraits stand as proxy for who were once here with as much fabric of their being as the principal can uncover. In re-exposing the appearances of these children the artist has given a larger stage to grandeur lives that may have otherwise antiquated lost again in time, and block out turn leaves traces of his type in existence.

Lordan Bunch is a self-taught puma. His paintings have been exhibited attach solo and group shows throughout nobility United States.
